Code Manager, Project Architect

Jason Young began his architectural career in the office of Young Architects, owned by his father. After almost 12 years of educational, city, county, and college architecture experience in Victoria, TX, he moved to Corpus Christi and has been a valuable member of LWA Architects since 2003. With over two decades of experience, Jason manages the review of building codes, accessibility standards, specifications, construction documents, and assists with construction administration.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University (1991) and has been a registered architect in Texas since 2002 (TX Architectural Reg. #: 17612). His expertise in code management and project architecture is complemented by his active participation in professional organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects, AIA-Corpus Christi Chapter, International Code Council, and the National Fire Protection Association/Life Safety Code.

Jason’s dedication to his profession has earned him numerous accolades, including the AGC South Texas Chapter Architect of the Year award in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011, and 2012. His work has been recognized in various publications and awards from TASA/TASB, TASB, and TASA. His extensive project experience includes the City of Corpus Christi Public Safety Warehouse for the Police Department, multiple ISD projects, and specialized facilities such as the Hall Group Holdings Island Pickleball Complex and the Kennedy County Fire & EMS Services Station.

Outside of architecture, Jason enjoys the tranquility and hands-on nature of cattle ranching and ranch life. He is also an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and cultures. These hobbies reflect his appreciation for both the simplicity of rural life and the excitement of discovering the world.
