About LWA
History of the Firm and Principals
In 1988, LaMarr Womack founded LaMarr Womack and Associates Architects as a sole proprietorship, specializing in educational facilities. The firm achieved numerous successes thanks to the talent, expertise, and dedication of its team to school districts and their projects across South Texas.
To ensure the company’s continued growth and to provide exceptional service to its educational clients, LaMarr Womack brought in two highly experienced long-time employees, Todd Brendalen and Albert Soto, as partners in November 2004, forming LaMarr Womack & Associates, LP.
LaMarr Womack retired in October 2013 after a long and successful career, followed by Albert Soto’s retirement in June 2021. Today, the firm is led by partners Todd Brendalen and Victor Cruz, who together bring 46 years of experience. LWA Architects has delivered architectural services for over 1,000 educational projects to more than 70 educational clients.
